Harvest Celebration Community Potluck, this Friday!!

Wooster Family of Picadilly Farm

Wooster Family of Picadilly Farm

This Friday, November 8, 5:30-7:30

Shared Harvest and Picadilly Farm community harvest potluck with Picadilly farmers Bruce and Jenny Wooster.  All are welcome!  Bruce and Jenny will review the farm year at Picadilly.  There will be music from shareholders: singer-songwriter Paul Hatem, and father-son fiddle/guitar duo Chris and Quinn Eastburn. Bring a potluck dish and your own eating utensils if you’d like.  We’ll provide some paper goods, hot tea service, and cider to drink. RSVP to jane [at] sharedharvestcsa.com for location and parking info.

Kim Chi making Fall 2012

Let’s Make Kim-Chi!  Following the potluck at 7:30 we will have a lacto-fermentation kim chi making session ($5-10 suggested per participant.) All ingredients organic and generously provided by Picadilly Farm (except the ginger and salt).   You’ll get to take home your own quart jar of kim-chi (bring your own jar if you can). Please RSVP to me if you plan to attend (a) the potluck, (b) the kim-chi making, or both.

We still have shares available at all locations, so tell your friends!  Signup deadlines are Nov. 12 (Arlington) and Nov. 19 (Canton) for 2-month shares.  We also still have a few deep winter shares available (Jan/Feb).

HONEY from local shareholder for sale at our next Arlington pickup:  Early summer and fall honeys from Jessica Sainsbury and her husband, who maintains their hives right around the Arlington area.  This is the real local stuff!! Look for Jessica (and probably her children) at their own table at the pickup offering their honey in 1 pound jars.  Our family was lucky to get to try their summer honey earllier in the and we loved it!
